Name of Event: Suffolk County Marathon @ Heckscher State Park
Event Description: Whether this is your first marathon or just your latest, this fast, flat 26.2 mile course featuring long straightaways will give you the perfect opportunity to shatter your own personal goal. The marathon course will allow runners to enjoy all the features of the half-marathon but will add in the downtowns of Sayville, Bayport-Blue Point, and Patchogue, each offering their own unique spectator events and live entertainment to keep you motivated through to a breathtaking, water-view finish. Fees include a finisher’s medal, premium commemorative race t-shirt, and entry ticket to the Taste of Long Island Festival. ***Participants are required to pick up their race packet. There is NO packet pick up on race day!

Name of Event: 2015 Fall Seafood Festival @ Captree State Park
Time of Event: 11am - 5pm
Event Description: A family-oriented, nautical themed event, that includes live musical entertainment, seafood, merchandise vendors, pony rides, crab races, free boat rides, magic show, interactive pirate show, and various displays for children of all ages to enjoy.
Cost: Free. ***$8 Vehicle use fee

Name of Event: 2015 South Shore Fishing Classic
Event Description: A fishing tournament for the largest Striped Bass and/or Bluefish. All fish must be hooked and landed from the beach, surf, jetty, bank or pier. The awards ceremony takes place at the end of the tournament. ***Awards Ceremony: Sunday, 10/18 at Captree State Park

Name of Event: 8th Annual Long Island Run For The Warriors in Babylon
Time of Event: 7am
Event Description: Show your support to our nation's wounded service members and families of the fallen by participating in the 10K, 5K, or 1-Mile Walk/Run. This race is dedicated to the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen. It is a celebration of their strength and resolve and a promise to continue restoring self, family, and hope. By uniting the entire community, military and civilian alike, this unique event embraces wounded warriors and their families in the shared belief that there is hope beyond recovery. All proceeds from the race will benefit wounded warriors and their families through our many Hope For The Warriors programs. Monies raised will assist with both immediate and future needs.
