The Long Island Maritime Museum

The Long Island Maritime Museum was founded in 1966 and is located on the West Sayville waterfront. Once part of the Meadowedge estate of Mr. and Mrs. Anson Hard, is now comprised of fourteen acres and nine historic buildings. The Long Island Maritime Museum mission is to Preserve Long Island's maritime history for educational purposes, the Museum has been welcoming visitors from all over the world for over 40 years. Inside the Museum visitors can take a look at the history of the industry, people, as well as the changes that occurred as it relates to the Great South Bay today.

Take Sunrise Highway East (27), Take exit 46A/Montauk Highway/Oakdale/Great River toward Oakdale, Turn Left on Montauk Highway(RT-27A) - go Continue to follow RT-27A, Turn Right on West Ave, Arrive at 86 West Ave, West Sayville, on the Right.
