Atlantique has a lot of offer boaters and ferry visitors. Boaters will enjoy Atlantique's wide boat slips, electrical service, fresh water hookup and free pump out station. What makes Atlantique different than most areas on Fire Island is the availability of hot showers. They also provide life guard protected beaches, a snack bar and 150+ marina boat slips. This makes Atlantique Beach a great choice for day trippers or weekend boaters.
There are two different areas of Atlantique. Atlantique Beach and the Fire Island community of Atlantique. The beach is an 875 foot wide strip between the ocean and the bay, and nestled between the communities of Atlantique and Lonelyville. The Town of Islip runs this area as a town park and makes it accessible to anyone by either private boat or by ferry. Atlantique is just a short walk away from Ocean Beach and Fair Harbor. Each offering their own different experience.
Marina Fees 2010: For Town of Islip residents fees are from $27 to $46 per day on weekdays depending the size of your boat - $34 to $54 on weekends and holidays. Non-resident docking costs more and availability is up to the dockmaster. Call ahead for information about dock space availability and fees.
Directions: Atlantique is accessible by ferry from Bay Shore or private boat.
- By Ferry: Take the ferry from the Bay Shore ferry terminal at the end of Maple Avenue in Bay Shore. Although ferry service is limited.
- By private boat: Atlantique docking is available on a first come first serve basis. The dockmaster monitors VHF Ch. 9 or you can call the dockmaster's office. There is anchorage on either side of the marina so you can anchor out if you like. This will save on fees and give you more privacy.
